What is GladGrade?
GladGrade is a free consumer satisfaction app for iPhone and Android where people grade their experiences with businesses, government services, elected officials and higher education institutions, all in one place. Every place is measured by the Global Customer Satisfaction Grade (GCSG), a standardized score from 300 to 850.
Version 4.0 adds an AI Voice Companion, brought to life through Gigi, GladGrade's mascot, and Preferences, a personal taste profile that grows from your grades, reviews and searches, and that you can see and correct.

Answers about places come from what GladGrade users actually wrote: what they like, what they don't, and the GCSG. Voice uses GladGrade's own grades, reviews and the people you follow. It doesn't reach for star ratings from other sites. Newer places may not have answers yet; every grade added makes Voice better for everyone.
The Voice Companion is available to registered users. Read the GladGrade 4.0 announcement.
2. Preferences: your personal taste profile
The best recommendation depends on who is asking. As you grade your experiences, GladGrade builds a picture of your preferences, and shows you exactly what it has learned. Preferences works like a mirror of your own experiences. It covers:
- The cuisines and services you love
- What tends to disappoint you
- The habits behind your choices
- Where you feel most satisfied
- The neighborhoods and places you explore through GladGrade
Every insight shows the grades and reviews behind it, so you can see why GladGrade reached that conclusion. When something doesn't fit, tap "Not me."
Open it from Profile → My Activity → Preferences, or ask Gigi: Show me my preferences.
Preferences powers personal recommendations: suggestions that match your taste, parts of town you haven't explored, and recall of your own past experiences.
3. Grade everything in one place
GladGrade is the only mobile platform that centralizes grading across businesses, higher education institutions, government agencies and elected officials.
Businesses
Grade restaurants, shops, services and more. Share your experience, add evidence such as a receipt or invoice if you choose, and help shape each business's GCSG.
Government services and elected officials
The Government Services Grading (GSG) module lets you explore and grade government agencies, departments and elected officials at the federal, state, county and city levels. GladGrade finds your own officials from your location, down to your legislative district. Coverage is most complete today in Florida and Texas, and it is expanding.
Higher education
The Higher Education module lets students grade professors, dormitories, social environment, locations, food, entertainment, security and the remote environment at their institution. The redesigned professor directory includes more than 16,000 professors, with portraits, browsing by department and available contact details.
The Global Customer Satisfaction Grade (GCSG)
Every place is measured by the GCSG, GladGrade's proprietary, standardized satisfaction score ranging from 300 to 850. Organizations are measured by the people they serve, not by advertising budgets. Organizations that listen and solve problems can improve their GCSG. Read the Reviews Policy for how grades are moderated and weighted.
4. Community, rewards and your account
- Follow and be followed: follow people whose taste and experiences you trust and see their public reviews. You decide whether your own activity is public.
- Public @names: public grades display the author's unique @name.
- My places: saved places live in your Profile. Say
Save Versailles
or tap to save. - Invite codes: new users can enter a friend's referral code when they join.
- GladPoints: eligible contributions earn GladPoints, which GladGrade intends to make redeemable for cash value as the platform grows and develops its revenue model.
- Account security: a verified email can serve as an additional way to confirm your identity.
- Ten languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Chinese (Mandarin), Arabic, Russian and Japanese.
5. Personalization with transparency and control
- The microphone activates only when you choose to use the Voice Companion.
- Your phone's own speech recognition (Apple or Google) turns your words into text. GladGrade receives only the text of your request, never a recording of your voice.
- Preferences shows what GladGrade has learned and the grades and reviews behind each insight. Tap "Not me" to correct anything.
- You decide whether your activity is public.
Read GladGrade's Privacy & Security policy for details.
